PRIDE INSIDE was a project created in June 2020 as a response to the cancellation of annual Pride parades around the world due to the covid-19 pandemic. 16 queer photographers from around the UK came together to collectively photograph over 100 members of the LGBTQ+ community in their home environments. These photographs were displayed at 1200 locations around the country for a period of two weeks from June 15-28th 2020.
This massive takeover of digital billboards and bus stops meant LGBTQ+ people could still be colourfully, joyfully, authentically visible on the streets in London, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Swansea, Cardiff, Brighton, Southampton, Bristol, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Belfast and Bangor.
I had the honour of being the sole photographer to be asked to participate from Scotland. The project was a charity endeavour collecting donations for the LGBT Consortium.
